Emergency

The emergency unit of the hospital is situated on the ground floor. It has triage area, consultation and examination area, observation ward, plaster and dressing room, ECG room, resuscitation room and doctors and staff rooms and patient waiting areas. All patient beds have piped gases, vacuum, Multichannel cardiac monitors from GE. The emergency is also the nodal point of disaster management of the hospital. It is fully equipped to handle any type of emergency and resuscitation round the clock. Registrars from Department of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine are posted in emergency by rotation. Consultants of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine Department are available 24 hours, seven days a week in the emergency unit. The emergency is providing care 365 days 24X7 hours. The services provided are absolutely free of cost however, patients have to pay for sophisticated investigation. All patients are stabilized in the casualty and subsequently either sent back home or admitted in the hospital. In case no bed is available the patient is transported in the hospital ambulance along with a qualified doctor to the nearest large hospital.
